GRUNDFOS Holding AS is a Danish manufacturer of pumps of all types, for many industries and for multiple domestic purposes. With more than 18,000 employees worldwide and producing some 16 million pump units a year, GRUNDFOS is one of the largest manufacturer of pumps in the world.
A History of GRUNDFOS Holding A/S
The history of GRUNDFOS Holding A/S dates back to 1945 when it was founded by Poul Due Jensen, in the Danish town of Bjerringbro. The town gave the company its first name, which translates from the Danish as Bjerringbro Die-Casting and Machine Factory. The company went through a variety of changes of name until 1967, when it finally became known as GRUNDFOS. The company retains its headquarters in Bjerringbo, where it was founded, and in addition it has facilities in the Danish towns of Årslev, Aalestrup, Årslev, Farum and Brøndby. In more than 50 countries, there are GRUNDFOS distributors. Throughout the history of GRUNDFOS, the focus of the company has been on making pumps which utilise the very latest available technology and for which GRUNDFOS established the Grundfos Technology Centre in 1990, focusing on research and development. GRUNDFOS pumps catalogue can be found in countries all over the world, ranging from countries rich in minerals, such as Australia, where GRUNDFOS pumps are used in the oil, mining and gas industries, to circulator pumps used in domestic and commercial air conditioning. From applications in irrigation to pumps for sewage, GRUNDFOS pump catalogue is often regarded as the industry standard. The company is now owned by a foundation named after the company's founder. The Poul Due Jensen Foundation reinvests all its profits back into the company.
