A Czech Tractor Brand With a Global Distribution Network
ZETOR Tractors A.S. is a Czech firm which manufactures tractors for the agricultural and industrial sectors. The firm started out being based in its own factory in Zbrojovka Brno, and launched its first tractors in 1945. During the 1950s, ZETOR introduced ever more efficient tractors, incorporating four stroke diesel engines and advanced mechanical fuel injection to aid performance. Coupled with their robust design and affordable price, these features made ZETOR Tractors a common sight on agricultural projects across the world from the early 1960s. The firm then moved on to create standardised assembly systems for its next range of tractors, driving down the cost of production and making their products easier to customize at the same time. By 2000, ZETOR Tractors had been sold in 43 countries and had created a sales network which spanned 5 continents. The firm has modernized and steadily improved the output of its tractors, gaining the internationally respected ISO 9001 certification for quality control. ZETOR has also invested in reducing emissions, installing new drive units and engineering cooling systems that use recycled exhaust gases. ZETOR remain registered in the city of Brno in the Czech Republic, but have struck affiliation agreements with firms across the world to distribute ZETOR tractor and other products. The firm also operates a global system of spare parts provisioning and undertake to deliver the required supplies between 1 and 2 days after the order has been placed.
